The ambient temperature sensor is a measuring device used to monitor the ambient temperature. Using a PT1000 probe, it measures the air temperature in the environment where the PVs are installed, in degrees Celsius (°C). The product is protected with a UV-resistant shading accessory, ensuring it is not affected by radiation. In addition, the 3S-AT-PT1000 product is compatible with the SEVEN Irradiance Sensor Box. The Ambient Temperature Sensor is a product designed for use in environmental and industrial applications. It has been specially developed to meet the requirements of PV plant monitoring systems in compliance with IEC 60751:2022 and IEC 61724-1:2021 standards.

3S AT PT 1000 field

All parameters (such as irradiance, module temperature, wind speed…) have effects that either increase or decrease performance. Some of these effects directly influence performance, while others have indirect impacts. For instance, some of the important factors for heat convection are wind speed and air density. Since air density also changes with ambient temperature, it directly influences the cooling of the panels. Ambient temperature directly affects performance because it determines whether the panels cool down or heat up, depending on the absolute difference with the panel temperature. For example, if the ambient temperature increases, the cell temperature also rises, which leads to a decrease in the generated energy.
