Rain Gauge with Modbus RTU Output – 3S-RG-MB
SEVEN Rain Gauge is designed to accurately measure the rainfall with a collection area of 200 cm² using the reed relay with the principle of tipping buckets. The sensor housing is made of seawater resistant anodized aluminum, making it extremely durable and resistant. The measured value can be transmitted to monitoring instruments, dataloggers and other receiving units via the serial RS485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol.
Using a reed relay and the tipping bucket technique, the SEVEN Rainfall Sensor is made to precisely measure rainfall over a 200 cm² collection area. These sensors can basically determine whether rain is falling or measure the intensity of the rainfall (light, moderate, and heavy).

How does a Rain Sensor Work?
3S-RG-MB Rain gauges are specifically made for cutting-edge industrial settings and environmental circumstances. These are sophisticated, professional measuring sensors for industrial and environmental applications, such photovoltaic plants, that include a digital interface. The tipping bucket principle and a reed relay are used in the rain sensor’s design to precisely measure rainfall with a 200 cm² collection area. The measured rainfall value transmits to monitoring instruments, data loggers and other receiving units via the serial RS485 interface with MODBUS RTU protocol.
Where do Rain Sensor work?
Rain sensors are used in meteorology, hydrology, agriculture, photovoltaic (PV) fields, and various industries to measure precipitation intensity.
Why choose SEVEN Rain Sensors?
- For the usual needs of industrial and environmental applications, such photovoltaic plants, the SEVEN Rain Gauge is the optimum measuring transmitter in terms of price/performance ratio.
- The rain gauge sensor is easy to install, and its housing is composed of anodized aluminum that is resistant to seawater, making it incredibly robust and resilient.
- It comes with three legs that are simple to attach to the ground using screws. A level surface is necessary, but no further mounting accessories are needed.
