Wind Speed Sensor With Pulse Output – 3S-WS-PLS-A
Wind speed sensor, also known as anemometer, is one of weather station sensors. This Sensor measures wind speed by converting it into an electrical signal in m/s. The Wind speed sensor is designed to measure horizontal wind speed independently of direction. The measuring electronic element in the wind speed sensor is the reed relay driven by the rotating magnet connected to the wind bowls. The Wind Speed Sensor with Pulse Output is compatible with SEVEN Irradiance Sensor Box. It is supplied with mounting facility and cable.
What is Wind Speed Sensor and how does it work?
The anemometer, also known as the wind speed sensor, is one of the essential components of weather measurement stations and plays a critical role in environmental condition analysis. This sensor measures wind speed and converts the obtained value into an electrical signal in m/s units. Due to its design, it is capable of measuring horizontal wind speed independently of wind direction. The measurement system operates on a reed relay mechanism triggered by a magnet attached to wind cups. The housing is made of seawater-resistant anodized aluminum, making the sensor extremely durable and resistant. It is the ideal solution with the best price/performance ratio to meet the standard requirements of industrial and environmental applications such as PV plants. It can be connected to SEVEN Irradiance Sensor or Sensor Box models. The data collected by the sensor is transmitted to the irradiance sensor, then sent to the data logger via a single cable. This ensures that wind speed information is accurately and reliably obtained in m/s.

What is the importance of Wind Speed Sensors?
According to IEC 61724-1:2021, wind speed is not used not only for estimating module temperatures but also play an important role in supporting warranty claims for wind-related damage. As more detail, wind can indirectly change system efficiency by affecting module temperature; it is also a critical parameter for structural safety. For example, wind sensors assess the risk of high wind speeds damaging panels. Excessive wind can cause damage to load-bearing systems. In this reason, for those damages, we can use the wind speed sensor as an evidence of excessive wind.

How to install the wind speed sensor?
There is two different mounting method for installation: pipe and ground mounting. These mounting methods are explained in more detail below.

Why Choose SEVEN Wind Sensors?
