Weather Stations for Solar Plants

weather-stations for solar plants

Weather stations measure the efficiency of solar power plants and uses various sensors to do so. The amount of energy required to be produced by the plant is calculated. Later, it is compared with the energy actually produced. Based on the data collected, necessary measures are taken or maintenance, repair works are performed.

The system described above includes solar radiation sensor, wind speed sensor, ambient temperature sensor and module temperature sensor. However, the client may ask for additional number and type of sensors. Based on the client request, sensors such as wind direction, relative humidity, precipitation and air pressure sensors can be delivered as well.

How it works?

In general, the system transforms the meteorological data it receives through the sensors into an output signal as per the datalogger request. Then it would transmit it to the monitoring system. The transfer of data can be done with Analog, Modbus RTU, Digital signals or even special communication protocols.

Mainly, a regular client would monitor the energy obtained from their power plants. They follow up the efficiency of the site remotely. These monitoring systems may be the inverter manufacturer’s own systems or they can be in the form of special SCADA. Basically, the data received from inverters, sensors and other devices in power plants are collected in dataloggers. Then it is transferred to monitoring systems. As Seven Sensor Solutions, we have weather stations that are produced in accordance with the monitoring systems of different datalogger manufacturers. The dataloggers for which we offer solutions are as follows:

Importantly, SEVEN Sensor Weather Stations are Approved by Huawei. It is added to Huawei’s list of recommended weather stations.
