Ginlong Technologies—known globally by its brand Solis—was founded in 2005 in Ningbo, China, and specializes in PV string inverters for residential, commercial & industrial, utility-scale, and energy-storage applications. The company states its mission as “developing technology to power the world with clean energy” and highlights a culture that is scientific, green, humanistic, and international.

SEVEN provides a full set of Weather Station for Solar PV Plants, compatible with Solis Data Logging Box. This weather station compatible with the Solis S3-Logger. S3-Logger commercial datalogger is designed for commercial and industrial PV plants. It is able to collect data from 4 RS485 ports simultaneously and bring in data from Solis Inverters and Solis meters. The datalogger boasts up to 30 inverters for monitoring and can also enable remote control capabilities for end users and installers.

What are the components of Solis Weather Station?

The standard components of Solis weather station include irradiance, module temperature, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity and ambient temperature sensors.

  • Irradiance Sensor or PV Pyranometer, with Modbus RTU output, that measures radiation, is also used as a Reference Cell due to its high measuring accuracy. Taking into consideration that the use of this PV Pyranometer is crucial for measurement in solar applications. It has also up to five input ports for additional sensors, and an output port connected to the Datalogger via a RS485 cable.
  • Module Temperature Sensor measures the back of module temperature, used in the calculation of the Performance Ratio of the PV Plant.
  • Wind Speed Sensor, also known as Anemometer, is used to measure wind speed in solar power plants, and to provide the data to the Datalogger.
  • Wind Direction Sensor is used for monitoring the direction of the wind and providing the data obtained to the Datalogger.
  • Relative Humidity & Ambient Temperature Sensor is a transmitter used to measure the relative humidity and ambient temperature.

The Irradiance Sensor is the main sensor and all other sensors are externally connected to the Irradiance Sensor Box. The data collected by the Irradiance Sensor is communicated with the datalogger with a single cable and Modbus RTU communication protocol.

What is the Solis’s Monitoring Platform?

Solis’s monitoring platform is called SolisCloud. It is the next-generation smart PV system monitoring solution. This system gives users full control whenever and wherever they want. It features adjustable, enhanced, and accurate fault alarm messages to notify users at the appropriate time. For easy Operation and Maintenance, the new platform provides a full-scale view of all installations with real-time data. It also features an intelligent alarm system that provides recommendations for quickly repairing site faults. A live power flow display provides visibility into both standard solar systems and storage systems. Most importantly, users will have full control over their systems, allowing them to monitor and adapt them whenever and however they want.
